Swine flu e-mail scam

The Pennsylvania Department of Health warns the circulating the e-mail scammer asking receiver to answer questions about the H1N1 virus is a scam.

The e-mail is purports to be from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and asks the receiver to provide information to create a “personal HIN1 vaccination profile”. So, anyone who receives such e-mails should delete it right away and also not to reply in turn.

The Web site the e-mail links to harvests receivers’ data and installs a virus on their computers.

The health department’s online vaccination registration system is still secure to use and does not ask for personal data other than a name.
