Over time, he builds a relationship through messages, phone calls, and sometimes video chats, creating a sense of closeness and trust. Once he has gained his victim’s confidence, Frank typically fabricates an urgent financial problem, such as a stalled business deal, a health emergency, or legal troubles abroad, and asks for financial help, often requesting wire transfers or cryptocurrency to make it hard to trace.
