In this scam, the recruiter typically sends a check worth more than the items you buy, so you get to keep the rest as a bonus. They will instruct you to deposit the check right away, buy gift cards, and provide the scammer with the number and pin on the gift cards.Read more

Grandma Foils Phone Scam
Phone scammers in Canada messed with the wrong person when they solicited money from a woman in Windsor, Ontario — who then plotted with local police to catch them.
The woman, who received a fishy call from a man posing as her grandson on Wednesday, was set up to be one ofthe “grandparent scams” that are targeting seniors in Canada and elsewhere.Read more
