Self-Proclaimed Psychic Sentenced
TAMPA, Fla. – Self-proclaimed psychic Jaycee Wasso was convicted in March in twisted $1 million scam. Two months later, she was hoping to change her fortune during her sentencing.
In a Tampa courtroom Friday, Wasso told the court that she knew her fortuneteller days were over and asked for forgiveness for her actions and mercy. Read more

Rental House Scam
JACKSON, Miss. —
A woman and her family are stranded in Jackson after she said she was scammed out of thousands of dollars for a rental house.“I just don’t know what to do. We’re just stuck,” Kimberly Adams said.
Adams and her family are staying in a cramped Jackson motel after she said she paid thousands of dollars to rent the same house someone else was preparing to move into. Read more

Malware-Scanned QR Code Leads to $20k Loss
SINGAPORE – She visited a bubble tea shop and saw a sticker pasted on its glass door, encouraging customers to do an online survey to get a free cup of milk tea.
Enticed by what seemed like a good deal, the 60-year-old scanned the QR code on the sticker and downloaded a third-party app onto her Android phone to complete the “survey”. Read more
