Description :
John Friedrich
John Friedrich Hohenberger is Australia's greatest conman who masqueraded his German identity for years and served as the director of National Safety Commission of Australia. Hohenberger started his scamming career from swindling the Germany government's money for building roads and tunnels. ‘He escaped the court judgment by faking his death in Italy while skiing’.
He later entered Australia with a new identity, John Friedrich. He produced fake qualification documents and sought for a job in Australia where he eventually got a government job of supervising ports in Mornington Island. He then gradually got promoted to become the director of security commission without any suspicion. He was later convicted by NSCA for his frauds in constructions of tunnels and roads in the year 1991. Further investigation of the fraud led to the revival of his original identity in 1991. He committed suicide to evade the prosecution.
