Allen County Sheriff's Office Scam Report
Allen County Sheriff's Office Scam Report
Description :
I was called and the person said his name was officer Pape Badge #9136. I was told that I had failed to appear for just duty and that I had 2 warrants for my arrest, 1 for failure to appear and 1 for neglect of civic duty. I was then instructed that the bond on each warrant was 750 dollars each. I was told they have a pay at kiosk and that Lowes, Target and Walmart were the participants in this and that since they did not accept credit cards or cash or debit cards, I had to go to one of the businesses and purchase gift cards in the amount of the warrant bonds totaling 1500 dollars. I did as instructed and when I gave them the info off the card and was instructed that the purchase was not validated and since they were not able to run the cards again that I would have to purchase another set of cards and once my ability to pay was established they would issue a cashier's check to reimburse me for the cards and when I got to the courthouse at 715 Calhoun St and gave them the cards they would give me the check. They already had the info off the gift cards so when I got to the courthouse and found that it was closed I knew I was scammed.
