Letter 1

Hi my dear Henry,
I’m so glad to receive your letter. I find myself needing your words more and more often, as they always make me feel happy. I’ve made a decision about my work in the clinic—I’m going to be a surgeon! Soon, I’ll be on holiday, and when I return, I’ll be working as a senior surgeon. I hope you’re happy for me because being a surgeon is truly my passion.
Today, I was late for work. When I woke up in the morning, my neighbor, an elderly woman named Klava, came to me with a problem. Her door was broken and she couldn’t close it. She lives alone, as her husband passed away five years ago, and now there’s no one to help her. So, I went to take a look at the door, but we couldn’t fix it ourselves—I’m not great at carpentry (smiles). It turned out the lock was broken, and we needed the help of a professional. Klava was very upset, and I tried to comfort her. She doesn’t feel well, and it’s dangerous for her to get too stressed. Although she was supposed to be hospitalized, she refused. Now, she has to take injections daily. I promised her I would ask for help from a repairman in our clinic, a man who’s good with his hands, even though he drinks a bit.
It’s very important to help older people, especially since our government doesn’t provide enough support. Pensions are small, there’s little social aid, and healthcare isn’t free. Elderly people often have to spend all their money on medicine. It’s unfair, but unfortunately, the economic situation in Russia is difficult.
On a different note, I wanted to mention that I have a European-standard medical diploma, which means I’m qualified to work as a doctor in your country.

Letter 2

Hello my dear Henry,
I’m writing to you now with a heart full of happiness. It’s so comforting to know that I have someone as close to me as you are, even though we’re far apart. I truly hope that we’ll meet one day in person. I think we’ll both be so happy when that happens.
Marina asks about you every day. I tell her that I’m always thinking about you. You’ve become a part of my thoughts, and I look forward to reading your letters. I’m so glad that you understand me. You’re the only person who really worries about me, and I cherish that.
I want to share something important with you. I believe that friendship is a cornerstone of any strong relationship. While passion and affection are wonderful, I think it’s equally important to understand how to navigate the everyday aspects of life together. Don’t you agree? I think that having a solid friendship with your soulmate is crucial. Emotional connection is everything; it allows both people to feel at ease with each other.
I feel that you are sincere and honest with me, and I appreciate that deeply. You share so much about yourself, and I want to do the same. I have a dream of finding true love—someone who will love and care for me, and I will do the same for them. I want our love to be eternal, and I want to share all the tenderness and affection I have for my special person.

It saddens me to see how many Russian men have fallen into alcoholism. I remember when my mother and I built a fence around our house. We didn’t have much help, but we did it ourselves. When my mom went to buy nails, three men laughed at us, thinking we couldn’t do the job ourselves. But after some time, they came over and helped us finish the fence, and we could never repay them except with a simple meal of pancakes. They even brought their own paint the next day to paint the fence. This kindness has stayed with me, and pancakes have become my favorite food ever since.
I’m really looking forward to my new role in the clinic, and I’m happy to pursue my passion for surgery. I don’t need to study further because my European diploma qualifies me.
I’m still figuring out how to spend the rest of this month, but I don’t want to waste time. I’ll write to you, of course, but I want to find a productive way to spend the rest of my days. I hope you’re not tired of my letters; I enjoy writing to you so much.
I never thought it would be possible to find such a close friend through the Internet, but now I can say it has happened. I’ve met you, and it feels like we’ve known each other for a long time. You’re someone who understands me, my life, and my dreams. You are dear to my heart, Henry. I’ll always be here to listen, understand, and support you if you ever need it.
