Letter 1

Hello Henry, I’m so glad that you decided to continue our communication! I’ve been thinking about what more I can share with you about myself, and I realized that I haven’t told you much about my family, which I think you should know.
I was born in Saransk, a small town in Russia, located about 650 kilometers southeast of Moscow. I’ve lived here all my life. Unfortunately, I don’t have many memories of my father, as he wasn’t part of our lives. I was raised by my mother, and we were incredibly close, almost like best friends. However, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer and passed away in 2006. That year was a terrible and heartbreaking one for me, and I couldn’t understand it for a long time. I felt empty. Even now, I think about my mom often. I had a happy childhood, and in the years that followed, I began to understand more about what she must have felt raising me alone. I learned from others that my father never loved my mom. He left her when she was pregnant with me, making it incredibly difficult for her to raise me, but she never complained. We got by with her small earnings, and she always did her best for me. She taught me to love unconditionally, and I cherish that lesson.
After her passing, I felt so alone, as I have no brothers or sisters. However, I’m fortunate to have two very close friends, Marina and Anastasiya, whom I consider like sisters. We’ve been friends for over 15 years, supporting each other through thick and thin. They are amazing women, and I’ll send you a photo of them so you can see for yourself. Do you have a best friend?
Now, let me tell you about one of my favorite hobbies: gardening. In the summer, I spend a lot of time in my small garden, growing flowers like roses, orchids, tulips, and asters. Do you have any hobbies you enjoy? I would love to hear about them.
In terms of my personality, I’d describe myself as sunny, active, open-hearted, and sincere, with strong moral values. I’m really interested in getting to know you better, as you’ve caught my attention with the things you’ve shared. How long have you been looking for a relationship? What do you think of my character so far? Is there anything you don’t like about me?

Hello dear Henry, How are you today? How’s the weather in your country? I hope everything is going well for you. I’ve had a rather challenging day, but now I’m free and happy to write to you. I’m sorry if my last letter sounded sad; I didn’t want to make you feel disappointed. I hope it didn’t upset you too much.
Now, let me tell you a little more about my hobbies. I really enjoy listening to music, and my taste depends on my mood. One of my favorites is Joe Satriani—I think he’s an incredible guitar player. I hope you agree with me! I also love bands like Dire Straits and Pink Floyd. They have such a unique sound that’s hard to match. Have you ever heard of Russian bands like "Spleen" or "Chaif"? I think the most famous Russian band internationally is "Gorky Park." They were quite popular in the early 90s.
Another passion of mine is going to the cinema. In Russia, we have access to many foreign films, and I enjoy them a lot. Some of my all-time favorites are the classic American films like Gladiator and Braveheart. Mel Gibson is such a talented actor!
As for my health, it’s something I prioritize. I take good care of myself and always try to stay in shape. I make it a point to spend time outdoors every morning, and the cold winters and damp autumns where I live have helped toughen my body over the years. I don’t smoke and I don’t drink alcohol, as I prefer a healthy lifestyle, and I’m proud of it.
I also enjoy hobbies like sewing, knitting, and gardening in my free time. I love collecting berries and skiing or skating in the winter. There’s so much more I could say about my hobbies, but I also want to share a bit about what I don’t like. I don’t enjoy being around deceitful or envious people, and I can’t stand cruelty or roughness. I’m not interested in people who spend their time drinking excessively or who don’t take care of themselves. I also don’t like bad food or gloomy, overcast days.
I’d love to hear more about you and your life. I feel like we’re becoming friends, and friends should really get to know each other well. What else can you tell me about yourself? I’m excited to hear more from you.
