I was contacted by this person through the internet in December 2005 after she found my profile on the Lithuanian chat/dating website Takas. We started exchanging letters regularly.
I began to feel more attracted to her. She then started a more romantic correspondence and asked me to pay for her trip to the UK. She first asked for money to pay for her flight to London telling that she would use her savings to pay for her passport and visa. She then asked for expenses to travel to Moscow and get her visa and plane ticket. The following step was the need of evidence of fund to be allowed to go through custom and security at the airport in Moscow, then she had some of her money stolen when she vas going back to her hotel. At the end of the story, she couldn’t board the plane because she had to go to hospital for emergency treatment.
The British Consulate in Moscow has confirmed to me that she never applied for a visa.
This person or organisation is till active on the net today. If you send an email to t-vasy@yandex.ru you will received a pre-written letters with your name on the first line.
I agree that I was very naive and ****** to get caught by this scam.
