Letter 1

Hello, stranger! Right now, I’m more than sure that you first looked at my photo and then opened my letter ? Honestly, I didn’t expect to receive a message from you so soon! It’s a pleasant surprise... So, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Jane Graham. I’m 31 years old, and I’ve never been married. By nature, I’m a kind and sympathetic person ? You might be surprised to know that I’m currently in Russia. I was born in Kazakhstan and lived there until I was 16. Then, my family and I moved to Russia for my studies, as people said it offered more promising opportunities and a higher level of education. Since then, I’ve been living in Russia.
I joined a dating agency to meet a man, and through them, I got the chance to reach out to you. After finishing university in 2013, I travelled to the U.S. to work and practice my English as a waitress in a small town called Huron. It was like a fairy tale! I learned so much about your country during my four months there. Sadly, I had to return home, but I’ve never given up hope of visiting again, and maybe even staying there forever. A close friend of mine, who lives there, actually recommended I contact a dating agency ?
Right now, I live and work in United States, though I was born in a small town. My mother and sister still live there, and I try to visit them as often as possible. I have a good job, friends, hobbies, and I’m not just wasting time. Still, I miss the time I spent in the U.S., surrounded by friendly people and beautiful places I had only seen on TV. Those warm memories have stayed in my heart. So, I’m looking for a partner with whom I can build a strong, loving relationship. That’s the most important thing for me.
For me, age and nationality are not barriers. What matters is what’s in someone’s heart and mind. I’m looking for a man who can be both my best friend and my faithful partner, someone I can dedicate my life to and love deeply. Perhaps I’m looking for you, and you might be the one I need — who knows? I hope you’re looking for the same kind of serious relationship I am.
You might wonder why I’m using the internet for this. There are many reasons. Today, with all the challenges we face in our daily lives, it’s easy to forget the true meaning of life. We often think so much about the future that we forget to live in the present. I don’t know if the internet is the best way to find my soulmate, but I’m not going to let anything stop me from trying. After all, why not? Every moment, we dream of a happy future full of joy and pleasure, but we often sacrifice our present for it.

Hello Richard, You answered me and made my day! It’s like our first conversation, our first dialogue. In many ways, it’s easier to write than to speak – don’t you agree? Here, I can just be myself ? Thank you for sending your photos — you look very good! You have such nice features, and I especially like your eyes!
I’m writing to you from work since I don’t have internet at home. My friend and I rent an apartment, and it’s not easy to get an internet connection. So, don’t be upset if I don’t reply immediately ? I’d love to learn more about you, and I’ll also share more about myself.
I’ve lived in United States for 10 years now — it’s a big city, and I’ve gotten used to the hustle and bustle. You can easily find United States on the map of Russia; it’s the capital city of the United States region, as you might already know ? There are many interesting places here — restaurants, museums, parks, cinemas, and galleries. But at the same time, the city is very busy, and people are always rushing somewhere without paying much attention to anyone. It’s hard to meet new people on the street here ?
Surprisingly, even though we’re far apart, we can still communicate! I’ll try to find your city on the map. Right now, I live with my friend Elena in our rented apartment, which helps us save money ? I have a cat named Markul, and I hope you like my new picture with him!
My mom lives about 25 minutes away from United States, and my sister lives with her. I don’t visit them as often as I’d like because I don’t have a car, so I travel by bus or train. Sometimes my sister picks me up in her car — we chose it together, and she’s always happy to drive me! Sadly, my father passed away when I was very young, so I don’t really remember him. My mom says that I look just like him and that we have similar personalities.
