Letter 1

Hello dear Henry,
How are you? How's the weather in your country today? I hope everything is going well with you. Today has been a challenging day for me, but now that I’m free, I can sit down and write to you. I’m sorry if my previous letter was a bit sad; I didn’t mean to disappoint you. I hope you weren’t upset by my story about my mother.
Now, I’d like to tell you more about my hobbies. I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music, depending on my mood and emotions. One of my favorite guitarists is Joe Satriani; I think he's an incredible musician, and I hope you agree. I also love the band “Dire Straits” and the music of “Pink Floyd” – they have a unique sound that’s hard to compare to any others.
There are many popular musicians around the world, but I also remember some Russian bands. Perhaps you've heard of "Spleen" or "Chaif." However, I think the most internationally known Russian band is “Gorky Park.” They had great success in the early ‘90s.
I also enjoy going to the cinema. These days, many foreign films are shown in Russian theaters, and I really appreciate the variety. I’m a fan of classic American films like Gladiator and Braveheart – Mel Gibson is such a talented actor.
Taking care of my health is very important to me. I’m proud to say I’m in good health and always try to stay in shape. I spend a lot of time outdoors every morning, even though I don’t have a car. I rely on the bus to get around. I’ve grown up with cold winters and damp autumns, and I believe this climate has helped strengthen my health. I don’t smoke or drink alcohol because I prefer a healthy lifestyle, and I’m proud of that.
In my free time, I enjoy sewing and knitting, as well as gardening and collecting berries. I also love skiing and ice skating during the winter. I could talk about my hobbies for a long time, but I’ll stop here for now.
There are also a few things I don’t like. I can’t stand deceitful or envious people, and I really dislike cruelty and harshness. I’m not interested in people who waste their time drinking alcohol. I also can’t stand bad food or cloudy days.
I’d love to hear more about you – the more I get to know you, the better! After all, friends should always understand each other well, don’t you agree?

Hi my dear Henry,
Thank you so much for your letter. It truly brightens my day, and I hope you feel the same way when you receive mine. I really enjoy our correspondence and I want you to know that I’m serious about it. I consider you my friend, and it feels easy for me to talk to you about so many things. Please feel free to ask me anything you’d like. I believe that trust is one of the most important things in a relationship. Without it, a relationship can’t grow and become strong.
Thank you for being honest with me. From my side, I can promise you that I will be just as honest with you. I think it’s essential for us to share as much as we can with one another. I want to know you better on a deeper level because you really interest me.
So, I have a question for you: What qualities do you value the most in people? Personally, I believe honesty, loyalty, kindness, sincerity, and understanding are crucial traits. I also think that trust plays the central role in any relationship. Both partners should trust each other completely, be able to share everything – the good and the bad – and work together to solve any problems that arise. What do you think? What’s your opinion on this?
