Letter 1

Hi Michael! How’s your day going? I’m doing well, thank you for your letters. :) It’s always a pleasure to learn more about you.
I’m so happy to have a friend like you. Michael, I noticed you haven’t shared much about your work. I’d love to hear more about what you do, and I hope you’ll tell me more in your future letters.
As I mentioned before, running in the morning is my favorite sport. I also do gymnastics to keep myself in good shape. Have you ever heard of American football? I know about it, but I don’t fully understand the game. I’d be interested in learning more about it from you, if you don’t mind teaching me. I enjoy discovering new things, especially when it’s something you’re passionate about.
I haven’t shared much about my family yet, so I want to start with my mother. Her name is Lyudmila, and she’s worked at a factory for over 20 years. She’s happy with her stable job, so she doesn’t feel the need to look for anything else. I’m very grateful to her for the wonderful upbringing and education she gave me. We’re very close, and I can talk to her about anything.
I also have a grandmother named Vera, who lives in a village just outside the city. She’s 79 years old, and although she’s retired, she stays busy with household chores. I visit her almost every weekend. We don’t communicate much with other relatives because many of them live in different cities, so I don’t have frequent contact with them.
Unfortunately, my father passed away when I was very young, so I grew up with my mother and grandmother. I enjoy spending time with my friends, too. We usually meet for coffee, go to the movies, or enjoy karaoke together. Sports are a big part of my life—besides running, I love swimming, tennis, and in the winter, I enjoy skiing and snowboarding. Do you like those activities? My friends and I share similar interests, but these days, we don’t meet as often because they’re all busy with their work.
I have a question for you, Michael: How do you spend time with your friends? What do you do together? I’d love to know more about them.

Letter 2

Hi Michael! Thank you for your letter. How are you? What are you up to today? I’m doing well. I’m happy to see your new letter, but unfortunately, I didn’t receive your photos this time. I always send you my photos with every letter, and I hope you’ll send yours back next time.
It’s really interesting to read about your family and friends. It’s important for me to understand the people you’re closest to, and I’m sure they must be wonderful. I can relate to what you said about past relationships. It’s tough, and I’ve had my share of unsuccessful ones, too.
Today, I made plans with my best friend, Lyuda, to go for a walk in the park. The weather is beautiful, and we love spending time outdoors. Do you enjoy being outside, surrounded by nature? I personally find it very refreshing, and I love the breeze and the trees. My grandmother lives in the village, and I visit her often. There’s a lovely pond there, and it’s the perfect place to relax, whether in summer or winter.
I enjoy cooking as well, and I have a lot of recipe books. I like trying new dishes every weekend, and Lyuda is always the first to try them. I’ve recently perfected a recipe for baked potatoes with beef in a delicious sauce, and I also bake pork and chicken in various ways. Lyuda always says I cook well. Do you enjoy cooking? I’d love to cook for you one day! :)
By the way, I’ve only been to the sea once, in Sochi, Russia, about three years ago. It was such an unforgettable experience. I can still vividly remember walking along the beach, feeling the hot sand under my feet, and listening to the sound of the waves. If I had the means, I would love to live by the sea, in a house overlooking the water. Can you imagine waking up every morning to the sunrise over the ocean? It’s such a beautiful thought, don’t you think?
