I am writing to report a scam (which I became a victim of) to share my experience and generate awareness. It would be helpful if you could share my experience of your social media websites:On 14.02, I was contacted by a lady named Tatiana Stepanova (Mail.jpg) a Moldovan, residing in Tbilisi Georgia. She claimed to be a professional match-making expert and offered me her services for a discounted price. Since I am registered on a couple of dating sites, I assume she obtained my contact from these sites. To win my trust, she sent me a copy of her passport and ID (see attached). After having a short video call and exchanging some WhatsApp messages, on 21.02 I decided to pay her 240 Euros per PayPal. She stated her PayPal ID - tatianastept5 which interestingly belongs to a lady named "NATALIA SOLOPA". On asking, she claimed this lady to be her sister and she uses her account since Paypal is challenging in Georgia and Moldova. After the payment, she started absconding and stopped replying to my messages. After asking persistently for a reply, she sent me some pictures of ladies, stating that they were interested in my profile. To be 100% sure about the information, I did my research on the pictures I got and realized that she simply copied the pictures from social media (Instagram, VK.com) created fake profiles and sent me pictures of ladies who were unaware of it. One of the examples is attached. The lady she named "Maria and the coffee shop owner" is interestingly a strategist and a Russian lady named Victoria. I asked her to return my money but as expected, she disappeared and now is not responding at all. Interestingly, I found out that the phone number (Georgian number) she used to contact me has a profile picture of a young girl, who looks different. my conclusion: this could be a big-time scammer who not only cheats people by stealing money but also deals with identity theft and forging documents.I would be very thankful if you could share this information with others.
