Masumi Hayashi is a Japanese murderer who poisoned the public meal at the summer festival in Japan,1998 and was later caught. She was accused for many other arsenic poisoning cases, hoping to get insurance. She was sentenced to death in the year 2002 after her plea got rejected by the court. The case of Hayashi became infamous and resulted in the suicide of her daughter due to public outrage on her family.
